In September 2016 some expert engineers of 3SGEOTECH Company led by Dr. Ing. Juan Antonio Torres Vila, have expounded different presentations in the international conference “GEOTECHNICS 2016.
Advanced methods and traditions in geotechnics” performed in Slovakia.
The presentations expounded by 3SGEOTECH have been:
“Rational method and empirical method comparison to calculate ground pressure over flexible membranes for slope stabilization systems application”
“An advanced method for slope stabilization in geotechnical and mine construction: experience in the use of high performance steel flexible membranes reinforced with horizontal cables in the Iberian Peninsula”
During these presentations, expert engineers of 3SGEOTECH have explained the geotechnical calculation models totally developed by 3SGEOTECH Company. These calculation models have been developed with the objective to analyze the behavior of the unstable soil which exists in a slope. These calculation models are supported and guaranteed by a real experience of more than than 25 years in geotechnical field.
On the other hand, during these presentations 3SGEOTECH has widely explained the slope stabilization system concept based on the utilization of high performance flexible membrane combined with anchors and reinforcement cables connected to the membrane. This concept was completely developed by Dr. Ing. Juan Antonio Torres Vila in the 1990's.
In this way, 3SGEOTECH has presented the range of flexible slope stabilization systems type 3STUTOR®, based on the use the high tensile strength and low structural deformation wire meshes type 3STUTOR® Plus as stabilization flexible membrane. Mechanical behavior of these systems has been physically simulated using strength of materials, Theory of Elasticity and classical geotechnical calculation models. This trusted and checked model allows calculating the unitary support of the system (kN/m2) according to its way of installation in working conditions.
Flexible slope stabilization systems type 3STUTOR® are the unique ones on the market which unitary support capacity has been certified by an independent institution (University of Cantabria, Spain).
