The slope stabilization system concept based on the utilization of high performance flexible membrane combined with reinforcement cables was completely developed by Dr. Ing. Juan Antonio Torres Vila in the 1990's. Later, these concepts were extended and their use has been widespread in slope stabilization field.
Using the flexible slope stabilization systems concept, 3SGEOTECH® has developed and designed a wide range of systems guaranteed having an experience of more than 25 years in geotechnical field.
Certified support capacity of the systems
The mechanical behavior of 3SGEOTECH® slope stabilization systems has been physically simulated using strength of materials, Theory of Elasticity and classical geotechnical calculation models. This trusted and checked model allows calculating the unitary support of the system (kN/m2) according to its way of installation in working conditions to be compared with the need of support of the unstable slope.
3SGEOTECH® flexible slope stabilization systems are the unique ones on the market which unitary support capacity has been certified by an independent institution (University of Cantabria, Spain).
Controlled deformation of the system
There are many flexible slope stabilization solutions in the market which flexible membranes show excessive deformations and as result of these deformations a bag is formed. These deformations are incompatible with an appropriate behavior of the flexible system. With the main objective to eliminate these deformations, 3SGEOTECH® systems are the unique systems of the market which are designed according a deformation limits in their flexible membranes to guarantee an appropriate working conditions.
In this way 3SGEOTECH® systems can offer the unitary support capacity required to stabilize a unstable slope, meeting at the same time an appropriate deformation control and safety factor. This is possible because 3SGEOTECH® systems are designed using the physical calculate model of flexible membranes starting from the evaluation of load-deformation properties of the different membranes (EXY, μYX, EYX, μXY) and the right formulas of membrane theory.
